SEASON CATCH UP.
World Radio Day 2017 kicked off at 0500h with a special good morning from the UK to all our listeners in Asia and the Middle East. News roundup of latest developments in the world of training, corporate learning and continuous quality improvement
The broadcast at 07,00h focuses on BYOD4L (or bring your own devices for learning) and reflections upon a recent open learning event in the UK delivered through Google+, blogging, YouTube and many other interactive online platforms. This open and collaborative learning approach is definitely a ‘hot topic’ for 2017 corporate learning
The broadcast at 09,00h focuses on how and why people don’t use what they’ve learned and change their behaviour in the workplace, with Dr Lynda Shaw. Learning about how to adapt and change is hard, Lynda explains why
The broadcast at 11,00h focuses on Learning Technologies with reflections from Post-Graduate HRM students in London and in particular how they are transferring learning they have gained from the seminars into the real world of training and learning
The broadcast at 13,00h focuses on continuous quality improvement and features information about how a company in Latvia is working with schools in this area. Change is hard for many organisations, so how do our Latvian colleagues approach this?
The broadcast at 15,00h focuses on the subject of online learning, how you build momentum and keep students motivated and on track. There are so many online courses available these days, a quality standard is needed to keep designers on their toes, luckily we have with Ginette Tessier to tell us about OTI
The broadcast at 17,00h focuses on a small extract from the Post Graduate Masters in HRM module, Designing & Delivering Training, where we look at how to prepare an organisation to get the most value from their training activities
This broadcast at 1900h is completely different and features one of my favourite conference presentations about knowledge management and collective intelligence that I delivered in 2010 in a conference in Belgium
The last broadcast on World Radio Day 2017 at 21,00h sums up the experience and learning from throughout the day and what’s coming next for JFI Radio…‘Light Learning in a Box’ pre-packaged training material for managers and HR teams

'LIGHT LEARNING IN A BOX' SERIES.
IN A NUTSHELL: Learning material in a box.
CONTENT: Produced by JFI Radio, each ‘Light Learning in a Box’ topic is built around a podcast previously recorded by Józefa Fawcett and her guests. She asks probing questions, sometimes provocative, sometimes humorous, yet always challenging! Józefa makes complex topics simple, keeping the conversation lively and jargon-free. Podcast interviews are recorded outside of the JFI Radio studio and in locations where real training, learning and knowledge-sharing happens.
INSIDE: ‘Light Learning in a Box’ has been created to take the thinking and time out of producing high-quality content to use for in-house training and awareness raising sessions and workshops. In the ‘virtual’ box you get:
- lesson plan with clear aim and objectives and learning outcome for each topic
- transcribed notes from the podcast recording
- facilitator guidelines (suitable and easy to use by team leaders, managers and professional trainers)
- PowerPoint slides to summarise discussion points
- group exercises to reflect upon key messages and plan operational improvements
USES: The material can be used to deliver awareness-raising sessions as part of a team meeting or across the organisation in a more formal training programme.
PROFESSIONAL STATUS: Józefa Fawcett is an award-winning learning specialist with over 35 years experience in designing and delivering training and teaching others how to present, train and facilitate learning experiences.
